At 10:00 am of September 30th, the school's 2021 new international graduate student meeting was held in the conference room 206 of the Jingui building. The meeting was hosted by the associate dean Prof. Chen Ailiang, and the attendees were Prof. Min Xiaobo (associate dean), Prof. Yu Dawei (the tutor of the international student class), Ms. He Jiamin (the graduate academic administrator), all international student supervisors, and all the new graduate students.

In view of the global epidemic prevention and control requirements, this meeting was held in the form of online and offline hybrid.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Chen Ailiang, on behalf of the School of Metallurgy and Environment, warmly welcomed the students. She introduced the basic situation of Central South University and the School of Metallurgy and Environment to the international students, and encouraged them to learn the spirit of Central South University, learn and think skillfully, be diligent in practice, and establish a good international image. She hoped that international students could adapt to the new life of graduate students as soon as possible and study hard, after which they could actively greet new tasks and challenges and lay a solid professional foundation. In addition, Prof. Chen looked forward to cherishing international students’ time on campus, working together, making progress together, experiencing and enjoying the Chinese culture, and building a bridge of friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign communication and interaction.

Prof. Yu Dawei, the tutor of the 2021 international new graduate students class, put forward specific and clear requirements for the study and life of international students, including academic learning, daily life, personal safety, and other aspects. At the same time, international students are encouraged to take the initiative to understand the dynamic development of the discipline, formulate learning plans, and strive to be excellent students of the Central South University.

He Jiamin explained to the international students how to formulate course selection plans and training programs, and introduced the professional training plan and management system in detail.

Afterwards, the international students introduced themselves in turn. The teachers and students discussed warmly in the meeting, and the atmosphere was harmonious and full of laughter. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Yu Dawei summarized that the school has always been committed to international education and international exchanges, and strives to build the brand of "Study abroad in Central Southern University, Study abroad in Metallurgy and Environment".
